Author Guidelines

I. GENERAL

  1. The submitted manuscript is an original work, has not been published and is not being submitted for publication in other journals that have ISSN or ISBN. Each manuscript will be edited by the editorial team, and any substance that needs improvement will be sent back to the author for revised.
  2. We accept three types of articles: 1) original article, 2) case reports, and 3) literature review.
  3. All case reports that will be considered for publication are unique and rare cases with exceptional management and have important values for publication.
  4. The manuscript should be written in Bahasa Indonesian with correct Indonesian spelling.
  5. The author must register to make an account at Jurnal Penyakit Dalam Indonesia before they can do log in to submit the manuscript.
  6. All submitted manuscripts and illustrations are lawfully owned by the publisher and all authors are not allowed to publish to other media without the official permission of the publisher.
  7. All forms of communication are done electronically.

II. Writing Systematic

Full texts should be written in Bahasa. The abstract and title should be written both in English and Bahasa. Manuscripts are written on A4 pages, 1.5 line space, with left, right, upper, and lower border of 2.5 cm.

Original article

  1. The manuscript title should be written along with the name of author/authors (without an academic degree), institution name where the author works, and corresponding author (with detail address and email correspondence).
  2. Abstract and title are written both in Bahasa and English. Abstract of the original article is made with sub-heading consist of introduction (including aim),  methods, results, and conclusions, and keywords. Abstract is no more than 300 words. Keywords are no more than 6 words, separated by commas (,).
  3. The sub-headings consist of an introduction (consisting of background, problem formulation, literature review, and study objectives written in a chapter without subheadings), research methods, results, discussions, conclusions (consisting of conclusions and suggestions in a single paragraph or more), and references. Each chapter of the manuscript is typed in capital letters.
  4. Table and its title should be numbered in Arabic numerals; captions should be brief, clearly indicating the purpose or content of each table. Provide a footnote to each table, identifying all abbreviations used.  Figure and graphic should be in .jpeg format. Total number of tables and figures are advisably not to exceed 6 in number. (eg 6 tables, 6 figures, 5 tables and 1 figure, 4 tables and 2 figures, etc.).
  5. Original article should be narrated in paragraph (not in points). Images should be mentioned in the related text, not in the attachments.
  6. References must be numbered in the order in which they are mentioned in the text, and written in Vancouver style . References are advisably not to exceed 50 in number.
  7. Word count: the length will be indicated by or will be discussed with the editor, but will usually be less than 6,000 words.

 Case Report

  1. Title, author's name, institution, address and email correspondence should be clearly stated.
  2. Abstracts are written in both Bahasa and English. Abstract contains cases made in one paragraph without sub-headings consisting of background, objectives, brief case ilustration and management, conclusions, and keywords. Abstract is no more than 300 words. Keywords are no more than 6 words, separated by commas (,).
  3. The sub-headings consist of an introduction (including background, literature review, problem formulation, and objectives written in a chapter without sub-headings), case illustration, discussions, conclusions, and references.
  4. Case report should be narrated in paragraph, not in points. Figures and tables are mentioned in the related text instead of in the attachment.
  5. Word count: the length will be indicated by or will be discussed with the editor, but will usually be less than 3,500 words.

Literature review

  1. The writing format is similar to the original article, consisting of the introduction, the text (the content), conclusions and suggestions, and references.
  2. Title, author's name, institution, address and email correspondence should be clearly stated.
  3. Abstracts should be written both in Bahasa and English, made in one paragraph without sub-headings, consisting of background, objectives, summary of literature review, conclusions, and keywords (4-6 words).
  4. The sub-headings consist of an introduction (including background, problem formulation, and objectives written in a chapter without sub-headings), literature review, discussions, conclusions, and references.
  5. The literature review should be narrated in paragraphs (not in points), figures and tables are mentioned in the related text instead of in the attachment.
  6. Word count: the length will be indicated by or will be discussed with the editor, but will usually be less than 5,000 words.

Writing Technique

  1. The manuscript title is no more than 12 words in number, explaining the entire text content, using Calibri (size 14, bold).
  2. Abstracts are written in English (italics) and Bahasa, maximum 300 words followed by 4-6 keywords, typed with Calibri letter size 10.
  3. The text is typed in Calibri size 10, 1.5 line space on A4 paper ((210 x 297 mm).
  4. The manuscript is avisably consists of 10-15 pages including references.
  5. Figures must be in JPEG format and at least 300 dpi ( dots per inch ) resolution, write tables in the text (not in separate or in attached form).
  6. Figures and tables should be numbered with Arabic numbering, and table titles as well as table brief information written with Calibri letters, size 9 with single spacing.
  7. The references should consist of 80% of the main references (journals and proceedings), 20% of secondary references (books) which published in the last 10 (ten) years. References are written in Vancouver style. Each of the cited references is written with the number placed at the end of the sentence. Example of reference writing as follows:

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The author(s) must have participated sufficiently in the work to take public responsibility for the content of the paper and must approve of the final version of the manuscript
  2. The author(s) affirm that the manuscript has been submitted with the full knowledge and approval of the institutions or organizations given as the affiliation(s) of the author(s). Authors should enclose the ‘Consent Form’ for all authors. The filled consent form and the letter of ethical approval should be submitted on the last stage of submission process ('upload the supplementary files')
  3. The author(s) guarantee that the manuscript is original, has never been published else where, and will not be submitted to other publisher.
